On May 20th 2010 approximately sixty people came out to the Office of Social Services MPP Madeleine Meilleur in protest against the Ontario Liberal government’s decision to cut the Special Diet Allowance. People from grassroots organizations such as Under Pressure, IPSMO, the Special Diet Defense League, the Socialist Project and Acorn, as well as as many community members came out to let the Liberals know that we will not be quiet while they attack some of the most vulnerable people in Ontario.

the day of action was called by the Ontario Coalition Against Poverty, based in Toronto.

the cutting of the Special Diet will affect up to 1 in 5 welfare or ODSP recipient in Ontario, and some will see as much as 30% taken off their cheques.
